Winfield Youth Softball Organization (WYSO)

Winfield Youth Softball is made up of three programs: an entry level “recreation” program, Winfield Sting (travel), and Maryland STARS (elite travel).

Registration for recreation softball, for grades k to 8, opens in January. The Rec Program provides jerseys, softball pants, visors, and socks, but players provide their own equipment: bat, glove, cleats, bat-bag, helmet, etc.

Travel teams, for grades 3 to 12, form in the Fall. Tryouts are at the end of July or beginning of August. They play year round with tournaments in the Fall and Spring.

Travel teams generally provide jerseys, helmets, and bat-bags. Players are responsible for their own gloves, bats, face-masks, cleats, socks, batting gloves, and softball pants.
