Warriors Wrestling – Registration is Open until late October

Come be part of Warriors Wrestling!

The Warriors Wrestling program has been training young wrestlers and developing them into well rounded young adults since 1975.  Our regular season runs from November to March, with wrestling training at South Carroll, Century, and Liberty High Schools.  The Warriors Wrestling program over the years has developed a number of Maryland State Champions, state place winners, and collegiate wrestlers including Olympian and Ohio State wrestler, Kyle Snyder.  The team has provided South Carroll, Century, Liberty, Winters Mill, Hammond, Glenelg, Westminster, North Carroll, Francis Scott Key and McDonogh High Schools with a number of successful wrestlers over the years.

WRC Cheer Camp 2018

The Cavaliers are holding a Cheer Camp from June 25th – 29th. The camp will be held at Mayeski Park and run from 9:00am – 2:30pm.

WRC Fastpitch Softball Camp 2018

We have a huge treat in store for girls ages 7 – 13 who are interested in fastpitch softball. Kelsey Hoffman Schmitt (DI, Virginia Tech) is leading the camp this year.

Kelsey was the starting catcher for Virginia Tech when they shut-out Team USA. (VT’s pitcher, Angela Tincher, pitched a no-hitter that game.  See the short video, below.) Kelsey is also a professional fastpitch softball coach.

This camp is designed for players of all skill levels!  Whether you’re brand new to fastpitch softball or have years of experience, Kelsey and her coaching staff have plenty of great stuff in store for you.  For all the details and to sign up online, visit the Maryland STARS website.  Save money by registering by June 3rd. WRC’s Volleyball Camp – 2018

Date: Tuesday, June 19th – Friday, June 22nd, 2018
Time: 9am-12pm (Campers report at 8:45am)
Where: Parrs Ridge Elementary School Main Gym
Ages: 11-14
Cost: $100 per camper (payable by check only)

Registration: To register, please complete and mail our registration form and payment to Stacy Trivett. Her mailing address is shown on the form.  You will receive an email confirmation. Registration will close on 6/12/18. A T-shirt and Pizza Party are included in the cost of the camp.

Who can participate? Any girl or boy between the ages of 11-14 or entering grades 6-9 can participate in our volleyball camp. No experience necessary! Learn a new sport, perfect your existing skills, or prepare for High School Tryouts!

What should I wear/bring? Please wear athletic shoes and athletic clothing that you can move, bend and run in. Knee pads are recommended but not required. Please also bring a large water bottle and healthy snack each day.

What will I learn? We will focus on the fundamentals of volleyball through a serious of drills and game like situations. Each day will focus on a different skill set. You will learn individual skills such as forearm passing, overhead passing/setting, spiking, blocking, and serving as well as game skills including serve receive, offense, and defense.

Who are my coaches? This camp is being sponsored by the South Carroll High School Volleyball Program. There will be
a low coach-to-participant ratio with our experienced coaching staff and current and former players.

Coach Stacy Trivett, Camp Director is the South Carroll Varsity Volleyball Coach. She has 10 years volleyball coaching experience. She offers a variety of clinics and personalized coaching through Speedy Volleyball. Coach Stacy is also currently an Assistant Coach for the Carroll Vipers Volleyball Club (CVVC) 13U team. She has worked for Liberty High School as JV and Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach from 2010 to 2015. She has also been a volunteer coach for Freedom Volleyball since 2011.

Coach Terry Viergutz, Camp Coordinator is the South Carroll JV and Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach. She has over 15 years volleyball coaching experience. She specializes is youth instruction. Coach Terry has coached at all age levels for Carroll Viper Volleyball Club (CVVC).
Current and Former SCHS Volleyball Players will volunteer to demonstrate skills and mentor our participants providing them with personalized attention and one-on-one instruction.

What is a Council Sponsored Program?

A council sponsored program is a program advertised and/or operated under the name of a Recreation Council that may or may not have its own bank account. The program may also have an elected leadership board with written guidelines and procedures, in addition to (but not conflicting with) what the Recreation Council includes in its own bylaws.
